The Veil is devoted to the sacred art of exploration and healing through ritual, ceremony, and rites of passage. Shaped by live sound, experiential learning, and integrative medicine, we lift the veil of the unseen and embrace it as an act of sacred play, inviting participants into a dance with the mysteries that connect us all. Through our work, we honor liminal spaces, where wonder, celebration, and reverence become forms of prayer. Our approach centers on deepening our relationship with the unknown, fostering states of awe, creativity, and curiosity as pathways to transformation. We believe in the power of art and ritual to heal, not by fixing what is broken, but by illuminating the strength in our belonging to the mystery of existence.
The Veil offers a distinctive and transformative path to ceremony and ritual through bespoke preparatory and integrative processes. Rooted in art, transpersonal psychology, deep ecology, hermetics, mythology, and the alchemy of unveiling one’s essence, this approach emphasizes behavior change and the restoration of faith in life.
Mother Medicine arises from years of observation and experience in motherhood—immersed in the journey of gestating, birthing, and raising life. Through this initiation into motherhood, one develops remarkable hard skills such as organization, diplomacy, budgeting, intuition, and management—true skills of leadership—as well as a deep connection to both cosmic and earthly knowledge.
Yet, within the cultural system we belong to, these skills are often sidelined, diminished, or even erased. There is a vital opportunity, especially in this moment, for mothers to recognize the immense power and skill set residing within them. This power is not dormant—it is used every day—yet its application extends far beyond the family system. Mothers already possess what is needed to inhabit leadership roles across many spheres without the need for retraining or modification. Their nature and their lived experience as mothers equip them fully for this.
This project draws inspiration from various disciplines, particularly the study of ancient Egyptian and Hermetic practices. In these traditions, symbols are used to transmit knowledge, as words can sometimes distort the purity of information. One symbol, in particular, speaks to the divine knowledge of mothers in leadership. This ancient Egyptian symbol has been translated into a beautiful piece of art created with the help of talented illustrators and letterpress artists. While only a small number have been created at this early stage, the symbol invites a powerful practice: to sit before it, gaze softly, and receive its essence through open-eyed meditation.
This process is supported by 20 meditations and one mantra, guiding participants on a journey to root into their own knowing of leadership, derived from their experiential knowledge of motherhood. The meditations can be approached in various ways: one per day over 21 days, one per week, or at a pace that feels manageable and meaningful. The practice can begin at any time, allowing participants to start when they feel ready and incorporate it naturally into their lives. The final chant becomes a tool for daily use, helping to conjure and reinforce this deeper knowing even beyond the meditation space.
For this first group, there will be an optional gathering before the summer of next year, where participants can connect, share their experiences, and collectively strengthen the motherhood community. This gathering will be an opportunity to reflect on the journey, support one another, connect, and collaborate on ways to bring these insights into broader spheres of influence.
